Project description
Safe City hardware and software complex performance in Saransk was analysed at the coordination meeting of heads of territorial executive authorities of the Republic of Mordovia. Chief Federal Inspector for the Republic of Mordovia Mikhail Sezganov noted that the complex plays a significant role in ensuring the safety of residents and guests of Saransk and is undoubtedly effective. Excerpts from reports to the government: “We hosted the 2018 FIFA World Cup football matches. Our CCTV system worked smoothly, there were no disturbances or breaches of public order that would have hindered the positive perception of the championship and the city as a whole. The system performed well.” The Safe City complex allows for greater control over security in the republic’s community areas and on the hghways, increasing the capacity of the street and road network, and reducing the number of accidents by enhancing the discipline of drivers and pedestrians. According to the regional government, Mordovia now has 120 video surveillance lines consisting of 464 IP cameras, as well as five biometric control lines to identify individuals. Furthermore, there is also a photo-video traffic offence detection subsystem, consisting of 118 camera checkpoints installed on particularly dangerous sections of the republic’s highways.
