Key functions of the buildings and facilities of the second stage of the Rudnevo depot include diagnostics of the condition of the rolling stock operating on the route, performance testing and maintenance of air conditioning systems and communication lines, scheduled and unscheduled repairs, internal railcar cleaning

The second stage included the construction of the electro-mechanical service building, the repair and construction section, and the integrated warehouse. In addition, the depot’s stabling and repair building has been expanded.
Work under the second stage of the depot reconstruction was carried out while the facility was fully functional.
“The expansion of the stabling and repair building was carried out in the existing depot. The second stage SRB was annexed to the existing building; later, the intermediate wall was removed to create one large stabling space for trains on the Nekrasovskaya metro line. During the second stage, the traffic of heavy construction equipment and personnel around the depot was arranged in such a way that the underground and construction workers did not interfere with each other’s work.”
Rudnevo electric depot incorporates 46 main buildings and structures, including a stabling and repair building capable of accommodating 30 trains at a time, with a washing station to prepare trains for trip and a repair area with seven pits.
Major buildings and facilities of the depot include the motor depot, emergency service building, compressor room, operating personnel building, electrical and mechanical service building, etc.
An administrative building for management personnel with rest rooms for locomotive crews has been built at the depot. It comprises a canteen, a medical centre, a gymnasium, and an auditorium.
